Dr. Nicholas has been practicing veterinary medicine in the St. Augustine area since 1989. He graduated with honors from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He opened Matanzas River Animal Hospital in 1998. He served on  the board of the St. Augustine Humane Society and has been an active member and past president of the St. Johns County Veterinary Medical Society. He is an avid cyclist and hiker in the rural areas of St. Johns County and the mountains of North Georgia and Western North Carolina. He has a sailboat on the St. Johns River in Jacksonville and tends to a hayfield in western St. Johns county.
